Mumbai: Maharashtra MLC Jayant Patil blasted Shah Rukh Khan accusing the actor of delaying his scheduled departure from Alibaug Jetty.
The video of the incident that happened a few days ago off the Gateway of India has gone viral on social media.
Patil who hails from Raigad district is the General Secretary of Peasants and Workers Party of India and is said to have a strong hold in Alibaug.
Patil lost his temper when he encountered a huge crowd waiting to get glimpse of the actor. As SRK was still in the yacht, Patil could not immediately board his yacht which was on the other side.
“Have you bought the entire Alibaug?” Patil shouted at SRK adding, “Without my permission you can’t come to Alibaug.”
SRK, who turned 51 on November 1, was in Alibaug to celebrate his birthday.
As Patil left in another boat, SRK emerged amid loud cheers. Patil was heard saying: “You may be a superstar, but you don’t own Alibaug.”
“This is not the way celebrities should act, as people were waiting for him outside. He was sitting inside. While coming I saw policemen were struggling to control the crowd who were waiting to see a glimpse of Shah Rukh Khan. Some cops helped me to get into my yacht,” Patil told local journalists.
He also complained that celebrities who own houses in Alibaug often create nuisance with their late night parties. “Police is not taking any action,” he said.
